A comeback the Russian player won his first championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The player's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

However the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.

He saved 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
